Lyrica has been an RMT since 2008 and studied at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, completing the 3000 hour program.

Lyrica believes that all bodies are an amazing work of art. She has witnessed the resiliency the human body is capable of and wants to create a safe encouraging environment for her patients to heal.

Her areas of special interest are in working with surgical scars, breast/chest health and child bearing individuals, especially during pregnancy or postpartum.

Pregnancy, birth and postpartum are an amazing and intense thing for a body to go through and Lyrica would like to provide support to those individuals going through all those changes so rapidly. Her capacity for empathy for what parents and especially birthing parents go through has only grown since becoming a mother herself.

Lyrica really cares about creating a safe place for her patients in treatment. People of all races, gender identity, sexual orientation, and religions welcome.

About Breast/Chest treatments:

Lyrica loves working with surgical scar tissue and has done further training to be better able to work with people who have undergone, or in preparation to undergo, breast or chest surgery. The breasts can be a highly sensitive area, both physically and emotionally, but is far too often neglected which can have dire consequences on someone's physical and emotional well-being.

After chest or breast surgery, it is very common to have tightness in the tissues and effects on the overall posture from guarding or pulling. The nerves in the affected areas can be hypersensitive or numb. The circulation and lymph flow can be impaired. Massage to the area can help soften the scars and return the tissues to a more relaxed state after surgery.

Getting to know and feel comfortable with the breasts/chest after surgery can sometimes be a really hard adjustment and having safe therapeutic touch to the area can start the patient on getting comfortable with their new body.

There aren't enough people offering breast or chest massage, so Lyrica wants to help fill that gap. Treatment can be for natural, lactating, pre or post surgery breasts/chest. Whether the surgery was a reduction, augmentation, mastectomy, top surgery, or reconstruction Lyrica is happy to work with you before and after the procedure.

Unfortunately there is not a lot of social knowledge about what these surgeries entail. Many people don't have adequate support and may have a hard time talking with their friends and family about what they are going through. Sometimes friends or family assume if their loved one had surgery years ago that it must be fully behind them now, and while for some it might be, some may be silently dealing with recovery and lingering symptoms years later. Lyrica wants to create a safe space for people to be able to get the treatment they need to heal.
